Parent Workshops

23.02.23

On Thursday, we had the pleasure of having some of our parents and carers taking part in our maths learning :-)

This session gave us the opportunity to show them how maths is taught here at Grange Valley and we were able to show off our books and celebrate our success so far, this academic year.

Our parents were amazed at our maths knowledge and we even managed to teach them something new.

Thank you so much to everyone who came - lots of lovely feedback was received!

Hopefully the posters created by the class teachers will help to support your child at home.

We appreciate your support, as always!

Reception parents really enjoyed our Early Maths Explorers Workshop.

Miss Clewes delivered a presentation to parents to explain what maths looks like in the Reception classroom, our objectives for Reception children,

where they should be at the end of the year and beyond and most importantly how to support at home!

The children and parents then participated in a carousel of maths activities.

This included: making board games, subitising on dice, shape symmetry, adding machine,

making part whole representations with pipe cleaners and beads, estimation station and so much more!

A fabulous time was had by all :-)
