Year 3 Visit Haydock Library - February 2023 

Year 3 visited Haydock Library for an 'I Love to Read' session. 

The children discussed the different types of books that they could read, learnt how a library was set up, what they could do in a library, how they could be a member of the local library. 

The children spent time hunting for a book which took their interest and took time out of the school day to sit and read books together as a class. 

Year 3 Visit Ribchester Museum - January 2023 

Year 3 went on our class trip to Ribchester Roman Museum and Roman baths. The children had a fantastic day! 

The children learnt about Roman forts, the Roman army, how they traded, the invasion of Britain and visited ruins of granary buildings from an old fort and a Roman bath. The children tried on replica Roman army armour, shields and various helmets. They explore the museum learning about Roman roads, archeological finds from Ribchester itself.

Back in class the children recalled all their new learnt facts and information to support their work on how the Romans impacted on Britain. 

It was just a superb day!

 

Year 2 Visit Jungle Parc, Walton Gardens - July 2022 

Year 2 enjoyed a trip to Jungle Parc at Walton Gardens as their end of Year trip. We worked on our co-ordination and team work to navigate around the obsticle course. We conquered Tarzan swings, wobbly logs/bridges, standing zip line/sitting zipline and even an aerial skateboard! They loved testing themselves to reach their full potential and push their limits.

 

Year 4 Visit Walton Hall Gardens - July 2022 

Year 4 went on a trip to Walton Hall Gardens. We explored the grounds, worked on teamwork skills and used our Art skills to draw pictures of the grounds. 

Year 5 Visit Liverpool Maritime Museum - July 2022 

Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the Maritime Museum in Liverpool. Year 5 explored the history of transatlantic slavery. They got to look at  objects which revealed Liverpool’s role in the trade, plantation life and instruments of enslavement and punishment. They loved exploring all of the exhibitions in the museum and also enjoyed their time delving deeper into Liverpool's docks!
