All week the children were very excited about the pirate party, and they wrote their own invitations. We looked at all of the information that needed to be on a party invitation, and created our own.

We created some magic goo in Reception, we watched as it expanded when water was added to it. We thought of some amazing describing words as we put our hands in the bowl.

On Thursday we had a Pirate Party! All of the children looked fantastic in their costumes, and they all enjoyed the party food, and following the clues on our very own treasure hunt. They all had scary pirate faces…

On Friday we took part in Bike ability training, we practised riding the balance bikes and spoke about how to keep safe on our bikes.

Welcome back to the final term of the year. I can’t believe the school year is almost over; we have lots of fun and learning to do in the upcoming weeks.

We have began our ‘Arghh Pirates’ theme this week, and the children have been so excited to get started. On Monday we found a message in a bottle left in our water tray; it was a message from Pirate Pete asking us to build him a new ship and write a message about ourselves.

We decorated our own pirate bunting to decorate our classroom with skull and cross bones.

The children split into two groups during the week and worked together to build different pirate ships with different resources. The children were encouraged to listen to each other’s ideas and work as a team.

Pirates seem to be taking over our classroom this week! Our new role play area is being used very well.
