Local History - A Timeline of Grange Valley

Let’s take a step back in time……

We believe is it important that our children and staff should know where our school foundations have come from and that pupils should have a curiosity about the past and their heritage.

Our historical school log books have provided us with the background knowledge about how our school has developed and changed over time and how life style changes and national events have impacted on school life. 

Our school entrance now displays the timeline of Grange Valley down the main school corridor.

With the staff and children working together we took a journey back in time to find out some of the fascinating changes and events that have occurred at our school. Some examples being

of a previous past headteacher dying by fighting in war and the previous school building regularly had to be closed to children for the day for chimney sweeping,
