Safer Internet Day

. The theme this year was ‘Play your part for a better internet’. The hashtag was #shareaheart and the children at Grange Valley used the day to promote kind words on the internet.
The whole school learnt that words on the internet are permanent. Why would we want to spread negative words that last forever? We compared our T shirts to the internet as words that we write on our clothes are permanent. To promote Safer Internet Day and #shareaheart, we all wore T shirts and wrote kind words of encouragement on each other. This taught us to be more careful about what we are writing online and spread messages of love, not hate. It also reminded us what special friends we have and how lucky we are!
We also celebrated Safer Internet Day by revisiting the important rules of the Internet that are embedded in our school daily lives. Each class created new mouse mats and E-safety signs to surround our new class computers. We are confident that all children at Grange Valley understand the importance of staying safe online and this is promoted throughout our school.
