British Heart Foundation and raised children’s awareness of a healthy heart. One of the little girls in school was diagnosed with a heart defect and as a school we thought it was essential that we raised awareness about keeping our hearts healthy. We also set about raising money to purchase a defibrillator for school and our local community. To raise money we held a Sponsored Dance for all children at school and then followed this with a skipping challenge in conjunction with The British Heart Foundation.
Since this day in school children have continued to skip regularly and we now have a skipping club! Work around health and fitness at school has continued with lots of opportunities to improve health and wellbeing.
